Media Naranja (2022)

This project aims to merge words (from books, poems, songs, online posts, etc.) with visual elements like photographs, illustrations and paintings by various artists. The publication is divided in five chapters that approach the same idea from different perspectives, but it can be read out of order since each spread contains an independent narrative.

Color in Film: Green Edition (2019)

In cinema, green is often associated with deceit: a fake background with the power to become something else. But in its purest form, whether its a vast field of grass or a bathroom tile, green is usually overlooked or overpowered by “flashier” colors. This publication is the result of a conscious search for green.

A poster, a ticket, a booklet and a cassette tape in the style of Peter Saville to promote an exhibition.

Peter Saville: The Art of the Record Cover (2020)

Visual identity for a fictional exhibition of Peter Saville’s record cover design work. The goal was to create a cohesive identity that nods to some of the designer’s best work, while also capturing the mysterious and cryptic feel of the original designs. The color code pictured below, created and used by Saville in multiple album covers, was the main source of inspiration for this project.

To make the exhibition more immersive, the experience also includes a mixtape with some of the bands that collaborated with Saville. Listen to it here.

Batalha Centro de Cinema (2021)

Brand identity proposal for Batalha Centro de Cinema, a historic movie theatre in Porto that is expected to reopen in 2022 after being closed for more than two decades. The theatre intends to be reborn without detracting from the art deco origin that sets it apart, while still incorporating modernity and new purposes.

Old blueprint of the movie theatre, details of the building and its outdoor sign. White logo variations on black bachground.

Inspired by the building’s iconic architecture and its old outdoor sign, the new logo represents the cinema’s acronym (BCC) and seeks to combine historic heritage and innovation. To aid in its implementation, a guidebook was created containing rules and examples on how to correctly apply this new identity.
